The term metropolis has a double meaning: it indicates the motherland in the colonialist historical movement and, at the same time, the urban conglomerate that characterizes our postmodernity. The theoretical link between the two meanings can generate a postcolonial critique and an intercultural analysis of our multicultural metropolis, exposed to differences and multiple identifications.
